Top Attractions at The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage

Looking for one of the Great Palm Springs’ best luxury hotel experiences? Look no further than The Ritz-Carlton, Ranch Mirage.

The Resort

Located right outside Palm Springs, this magical property is perched on top of a hill that overlooks nearly the entire Coachella Valley. You’ll get spectacular views just walking around, eating dinner, or even swimming in the adults-only pool that’s perched on the side of the hill.

It’s not unusual to find beautiful grounds at a luxury resort, but when we say The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage has some of the best we’ve ever seen, we mean it!

Accommodations

You can choose from a wide variety of different rooms at The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage. We enjoyed a club-level suite that had plenty of space (including 2 bathrooms!) to spread out. The main bathroom was especially spacious, basically the size of a standard hotel room at other hotels.

Many of the rooms have their own private balconies, which is a great way to take in the views of both the scenery and the resort grounds themselves (aka excellent people watching)!

Some ground-floor rooms feature semi-private firepits, ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine after a long day by the pool. Tough life, huh?

Those staying in Club Level rooms will enjoy a large club lounge that serves a multitude of food options, constantly changing throughout the day, as well as wines and made-to-order cocktails. It’s a great place to grab a quick appetizer before dinner. We can’t recommend the skinny margaritas enough, and the staff was beyond courteous.

Dining

State Fare – The more casual restaurant on property, State Fare, offers a wide range of meal options, from brunch to lunch and dinner. You’ll be able to soak in those stunning Coachella Valley views right from the dining room or the expansive outdoor terrace. Stare Fare has a focus on fresh local ingredients, and everything we had from here was delicious.

The Edge Steakhouse – For steak lovers, The Edge Steakhouse is a standout, offering premium cuts of meat, fresh seafood, and an impressive wine selection. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide breathtaking valley views, creating an unforgettable dining experience.

Room Service – The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage boasts a plentiful room service menu with different options available throughout the day. We tried it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and were thoroughly impressed each time (the club sandwich is a favorite)!

The Pools

The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage features two pools: a large central pool that caters to families and a second, adults-only pool.

The main pool is expansive and features its own walk-up bar where you can order drinks and snacks while you while away the hours under the famous Coachella Valley sun.

The adults-only pool, although smaller, is situated at the edge of the property and feels as though it is almost floating over the landscape. It also has food and beverage service as well as rentable cabanas should you feel like a little extra privacy while soaking up the sun.

Spa

Andrew had the chance to sample The Ritz-Carlton Spa at Ranch Mirage, and he loved his experience (watch the video to see how much “ew” came out of his face).

The facilities are expansive, offering 16 private treatment rooms, some with terraces, along with plunge pools, spaces for yoga and meditation, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a full-service salon, and a retail boutique.

Good to Know

The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage is very close to Palm Springs proper, just a 15-minute drive away from downtown Palm Springs.

It’s also close to one of our favorite secret spots for morning coffee, the Sunnylands Café, which you can read more about HERE.

Booking a tour of the entire Sunnylands property is highly recommended. Often described as a Shangri-La in the desert, Sunnylands was the summer home of the Annenbergs, renowned philanthropists and original owners of TV Guide magazine.
